Google Ads creates unified advertiser verification program

Google will combine its advertiser and business verification programs into a single advertiser verification program in March 2022. The updated verification will follow the same process of verifying the identity of the advertiser and the legal name of the business or individual and supporting documents that will appear in the ad. Advertisers will be notified by email and in their account when they are selected to participate in the program. Let's talk more about the changes.

Google ID

A new section will be added called “About Your Business.” Google will ask advertisers questions related to their Google Ads account and what will be displayed in the new section. Such questions, such as the advertiser’s industry and the country to which invoices will be sent, will help Google understand whether you are a direct or indirect supplier ( third party ) of the products and services advertised on the Google Ads platform .

The information verification period will change . Advertisers must complete the information in the “About Your Business” section within 30 days. Otherwise, the account will be suspended. In addition, an additional 30 days will be provided to complete other commercial verifications if requested. Previously, advertisers had only 60 days to complete personal identification and 21 days to complete business identification, and notification of account suspension was received 7 days in advance.

Update to account suspension terms . If verification is not completed within the specified period, Google will have the right to suspend the account under the following conditions. This means that it will remain open, but existing ads will not be displayed on Google until identification is completed and the required documents are submitted.
